I wish I could say that we ate cake during this entire shoot, but that would be a lie. It was 8am, we were at Sylvia's restaurant in Harlem and none of us could stomach cake that early. Even me! Katie was gracious until the last frame, even when droves of fans incessantly interupted us while we were shooting the outside location.

Our shoot started out rough; Chloe was not happy how her hair was turning out. We were shooting in the beautiful Campbell apartments in Grand Central Station, a great location. After taking a few pictures, I thought we had to pare this down and get rid of everything except for Chloe. So I asked if I could shoot her in the nude and do something natural. The funny part is that she stood in front of the door at the entrance, so each time someone new would arrive and try to get in he would almost knock her over.  

The best part of this photo is that it took place in my bed. Seriously. Tracy came over to my house this summer, with one thing in mind and it's not what you think. She was really in need of some classic photographs, where she wasn't wearing gym clothes. We shot her in cut-offs, pretty panties but honestly, the naked shots were the best.

I didn't notice until the end of the shoot the entire crew was femail. Ms. Gurley Brown noticed and declared that this was "amazing." She sat us all down on her leopard rug to give us a mini-pep talk on working hard and being independent. It was really sweet and inspiring.

While my assistants and I were putting up lights and getting ready in the studio, Ms. Curtis called me into the dressing room to go through some clothes.  She was wearing a fabulous purple dress and talking about what else she would like to wear. I suddenly realized that this would be the perfect picture. So the moment there was a break in the conversation, I ran to get my camera.
